Visit to Microsoft Korea
Tour around Microsoft Korea Office
I’m back from my Korea trip this morning at 4am! Yesterday, I made a trip down to Microsoft Korea to visit the office as well as to catch some Microsofties there! Great to catch up with So Young to plan out my MVP journey and the contributions to the community so far.
I took a couple of pictures while at the office, and will share a picture tour of Microsoft Korea. It’s a nice office situated near Gyeongbokgung Palace and had a nice view from The K Twin Towers!

Microsoft Employee Area - Free Vending Machine Dispenser at Level 16
I thought this was really cool. Instead of having fridge in Microsoft SINSUB office, Korea uses Vending Machines to dispense the drinks. Some of the drinks are traditional Korean drinks.

I tried this Korean Rice drink. It tasted sweet, and it’s nice!

Microsoft Employee Area - Pool table at Level 16
Interestingly, the pool table was placed at the pantry area which was also very close to the hotdesk area, hence, many Korean MSFT Employees hardly use it because it gets noisy. I thought it’d be cool if they placed it at the cafeteria like the old Microsoft SINSUB Olio Cafeteria at Level 21.

I liked the office at Korea. It’s refreshing to be situated near Gyeongbokgung Palace and accessible to really good food nearby as well! One thing I really liked was the Vending Machine, it’s something you don’t get to see in most offices. I had the privilege to fly with Microsoft to Malaysia back in 2011 on a business trip to “firefight” a Windows Azure issues for an enterprise to Government (due to NDA, I can’t name the company nor the project) related platform. Microsoft Malaysia, although situated at KLCC Twin Towers with a great view and a nice office too.
Cheers!
